This knife is a replica of the one designed by Joseph Opinel to mark the 120 years since its creation. The blade is carbon steel and the handle is cherry wood. The “Crowned Hand trademark lodged in 1989 is not yet seen on the blade. Joseph Opinel simply stamped the name OPINEL preceded by his initials JH on the blade. The knife is not fitted with the safety ring, which was invented in 1955 by his son Marcel.
